About Dean Chisnall
Dean was born and brought up in Lancashire and went on to train in London at The Arts Educational School of Musical Theatre, after completing A levels in Performing Arts. When he graduated in 2005, he immediately joined the cast of The Woman In White in which he understudied and played the leading role of 'Walter Hartwright'. When asked about this opportunity in a recent interview, Dean was keen to show his gratitude; “I know, I have been so lucky. I couldn’t believe that for my first job I was working with Simon Callow, Sir Trevor Nunn, Anthony Andrews and Ruthie Henshall. I pinched myself and still am. Some seem to take success for granted but I never will.”
During the time he was working on The Woman in White, he performed his first professional concert at St Saviour's Church in Knightsbridge.
Dean then went on to appear in a recent revival of Evita before landing his biggest role to date, 'Ash Sherwood' in Never Forget - the musical based on the music of Take That.
He created the lead role of 'Ash' from the shows conception and throughout the extensive Regional Tour in 2007 calling at all the UK's biggest cities. The tour was so successful and audiences so receptive, that it quickly landed the show a spot on the West End. Dean re-joined the cast for a second Pre-West End Regional Tour in early 2008 and then onto the West End, as the show was given residency at the Savoy Theatre in May of that year.
Dean has enjoyed two consecutive festive seasons (2007/8 and 2008/9) in Qdos Pantomime Cinderella, wowing audiences as the male lead 'Prince Charming', alongside comedian and pantomime veteran, Brian Conley.
Dean recently starred as first cover 'Etienne' in hit musical La Cage Aux Folles before going on to land the role of first cover 'Raoul' in the hotly anticipated sequal to The Phantom of the Opera by Sir Andrew Lloyd-Webber, Love Never Dies. The show opened on London's West End in March 2010, see our News section for more information and booking details!
Dean is a keen sportsman - he loves football and is a lifelong supporter of Blackpool FC, captain of the London Theatres Cricket Club and a member of The Stage Golfing Society.
He also features alongside many top West End theatre stars on a CD recording of songs from Musical Theatre; Act One: Songs from the Musicals, singing the track 'Threshold Of Her Heart' with Sabrina Aloueche...the CD can be purchased from the Dress Circle Shop
